Dr. Candice L. Turner is an inspiring and trailblazing leader in intercollegiate athletics. As the Deputy Athletics Director, Senior Woman Administrator, and Provost Senior Staff Representative at Wayne State University, she is a tireless advocate for student-athlete success and a change agent dedicated to fostering inclusive excellence.

Dr. Turner’s academic journey includes a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in Kinesiology, Health, and Sport Studies from Miami University of Ohio and a Specialist of Arts and Doctor of Philosophy in Educational Leadership from Eastern Michigan University. Her commitment to student-athlete support services is reflected in her extensive involvement with the NCAA, where she has participated in the Dr. Charles Whitcomb Leadership Institute, the Women Leaders Executive Institute, and several other prestigious programs.

As the Founder and Principal of DICE Educational and Sports Consultants, Dr. Turner leverages her expertise to drive brand management and revenue generation, solidifying her reputation as an innovative leader in external relations. Her leadership extends to her role as a Leadership Development Facilitator and DEIB (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging) Champion, where she advises and implements transformative programs.

A Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. member, Dr. Turner is recognized as a thought leader and advocate within the student-athlete community. Her accolades, including the NCAA/Minority Opportunity Athletic Association Governance Grant and the NCAA/Woman Leaders in Sports Convention Grant, underscore her unwavering dedication to advancing the field of athletics administration. Candice was also selected for the NACDA Sr. Administrator Institute and the prestigious NCAA Pathways 2024 Cohort.
